Each semester, the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning at Texas A&M University (CIRTL@TAMU) seeks applications for its Graduate Student Leadership Institute. Applicants must have a passion for the enhancement of undergraduate education through the development of a national faculty committed to implementing and advancing effective teaching strategies for diverse learners.

 
Open to graduate and professional students at the TAMU-College Station campus who have successfully completed a CIRTL Associate Certificate or higher.

 
Participant Benefits:

¨ Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in enhancing undergraduate learning through leading a CIRTL@TAMU program under the mentorship of CIRTL@TAMU leadership;
¨ Receive a CIRTL@TAMU Leadership Institute stipend;
¨ Earn a CIRTL Certificate—depending on level of engagement, Fellows can earn a CIRTL Associate, Practitioner or Scholar Certificate.


Leadership Fellow Expectations & Outcomes
Associate Level Certificate:
¨ Serve as a Leadership Fellow during one semester;
¨ Serve as a promoter of CIRTL@TAMU and CIRTL Network values and programming;
¨ Lead/co-lead a CIRTL@TAMU program (e.g. Local Learning Community);
Practitioner Level Certificate:
¨ Meet the requirements for Associate Level Certificate;
¨ Develop and execute a Teaching-as-Research plan to improve the program;
Scholar Level Certificate:
¨ Meet the requirements for Practitioner Level Certificate;
¨ Add to the community knowledge about teaching and learning by disseminating findings through presentation and/or publication to all-university, regional, national, or international audiences. 
 
Certificate(s):

  • CIRTL Associate Certificate – CIRTL@TAMU Leadership Institute or higher depending on outcomes achieved (see above)
