CIRTL Network Course: Discovering and Addressing Student Preconceptions
This two credit-hour course offered Fall 2008 will be co-facilitated by the University of Colorado, Boulder and Texas A&M University. Students will participate in a learning community to develop a teaching as research project and explore issues in learning through diversity.
We will be offering a new cross-institutional class Spring 2008 entitled “Discovering and Addressing Student Preconceptions” with scheduled meetings on-line and on-campus at a time acceptable by the participants.
Participants in this course will receive 2 graduate-level credits from Texas A&M University and will participate with students from other CIRTL network institutions via web and teleconferencing. The on-campus portion of the course will be directed by Dr. Michael Manson, Department of Biology. The course will not focus on biology and will be suitable for any STEM major (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics). This course is open to all graduate students, however due to limited space, priority will be given to STEM majors.
