Need resources and advice on how to design successful writing assignments? Interested in developing strategies for responding to student writing? Thinking about using peer workshops or collaborative writing in your classroom? If so, you are invited to an unveiling of "The Write Place for Faculty" on Thursday, April 17, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in Evans Library 214.

The University Writing Center will provide a come-and-go lunch for participants to introduce this newest resource for teaching W courses. Nancy Small, a lecturer in the Department of English and the designer and organizer of the "The Write Place for Faculty," will conduct tours and sign up faculty interested in using it.  Built to support ease-of-access and interactivity, "The Write Place for Faculty" online workshop is divided into the four iterative stages of course development: designing, delivering, reflecting, and revising. Within these four areas are online modules in topics such as crafting an assignment, responding to student writing, using peer review workshops, and teaching basic writing skills. "The Write Place for Faculty" can be used sequentially or perused for specific information.

Delivered via WebCT to protect copyrighted materials and to allow for interactivity, "The Write Place for Faculty" is open to anyone who wants to join the university's community of writing instructors. You do not have to be a current WebCT user, nor do you need to be familiar with WebCT, to participate in the workshop.
